LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) will be able to use the elements and terms related to comics, comic books, and graphic novels
2) learn the historical development of graphic narratives and will be able to link them to the cultural, intellectual and political changes in America.
3) will be able to use techniques of close reading and academic research used for graphic narratives

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course aims to teach students the literary terms of graphic novels, to highlight the development of social and historical issues that make up the foundations of American culture and their representations in the graphic novel, and to further emphasize the position of the graphic novel within American literature.
