LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) will be able to acquire knowledge of the classical origins of tragedy and comedy and how they have been developed by major European/British playwrights,
2) will be able to understand the basic elements of drama (e.g. soliloquy, act, scene) and critically analyze a dramatic text.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course will focus on the origins, development, and elements of drama, examining representative texts by major playwrights such as Euripides, Shakespeare, and Moliere.
