COURSE DEFINITIONBuilding on the skills acquired through the Composition course, this course concentrates on formal essay writing skills and integrates these skills with critical reading and writing. The course analyzes different types of essay and also introduces students to skimming, scanning, summarizing, paraphrasing, and using secondary sources necessary for critical writing.

5th Week The Comparison and Contrast Essay
6th Week Midterm I; The Response Essay Submission (first draft)
7th Week The Cause and Effect Essay
8th Week The Cause and Effect Essay
9th Week The Argumentative Essay; The Cause and Effect Essay Submission (first draft)
