LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) improves his / her analysing & interpreting skills.
2) learns the important concepts and intellectual bases those play a big role in arising of a film, question their own reading and creating experiences.
3) learns to relate the films with each other, and the other intellectual works.

COURSE DEFINITIONInformation about different types of film narratives, philosophical approaches related to intellectual criticism, phenomenon, concepts and methods that contribute to relating films with philosophical texts are supplied and examples of successful films are analyzed.

3rd Week Concepts in regard to Kant Esthetics
4th Week Concepts in regard to Kant Esthetics
5th Week Base Lines of Hegel's thought, Spirit and its relation with Esthetics
6th Week Master Slave dialectic and its expression in cinema
7th Week Nietzsche's thoughts about Esthetics / Apollo ? Dionysos dichotomy and its projection in cinema
8th Week Mid- Term
9th Week Eternal Recurrance & Amor Fati / Film Examples relating this concepts
10th Week Discussing the qualitative transformation of works of art and cinema as a work of art
11th Week Existentialist Philosophy and Cinema: semtinizing the concepts of freedom, responsibility, etc
12th Week Existentialist Philosophy and Cinema: Semtinizing the concepts of absurd, indispensability, randomness, etc.
