7) Solving design problems and generating orginal ideas

9) Having the basic technical and application information regarding cinematography and transfering these knowledges while filming
10) To be able to make the moving images by effects
11) Having the basic principles while filming an animation and transfering these knowledges while filming

COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course, students learn the basic principles of science fiction and fantasy cinema and the principles of world creation. At the end of the course, students will be able to write their own science fiction and fantastic cinema scripts and prepare the concept.
COURSE CONTENTS

1st Week Introduction
2nd Week Creating a world, mythology, what is fantastic fiction? What is science fiction?
3rd Week Sub-genres: body horror, children fantasy, gothic horror, etc. Todorov.
4th Week Story adaptation: Book to screen, game to screen.
5th Week Fantastic Fiction: Characteristics. Analysis: Pan's Labyrinth
6th Week Fantasy-Reality relation, Utopia, Dystopia. Analysis: Avatar. Homework submission: Story.
7th Week Fantastic Elements, Homework submission: Character, concept.
8th Week Midterm.
9th Week Science Fiction: Characteristics.
10th Week Robots and artificial intelligence, Analysis: I, Robot & Interstellar. Homework submission: Scenario.
11th Week Time Machine, alternative reality, Analysis: Arrival, Jumper. Homework submission: Rough cut for trailer.
12th Week Project.
13th Week Project.
14th Week Project.
