General Information
The M.A. Program in Political Science is designed to provide students from diverse academic backgrounds with a solid theoretical and analytical foundation in the discipline of political science. The program aims at equipping students with the ability to critically and creatively apply the core theories and analytical tools of political science to examine political developments at the global, regional, and national levels through a scientific and inquisitive lens. The program can be completed with or without a thesis. In the M.A. program without thesis, students are required to successfully complete ten courses?five of which are compulsory?and a term project over the course of three semesters. The program?s faculty is composed of scholars and experts renowned for their research and expertise in fields such as political science, comparative politics, political theory, Turkish politics, international relations, Middle Eastern politics, Asia-Pacific regional politics, European integration, and Turkey?EU relations. Graduates of the program are well-prepared not only for academic careers but also for diverse professional opportunities in the public sector, European Union institutions, national and international civil society associations, think tanks, various sectors of private industry, and media organizations. Through the theoretical knowledge and analytical skills they acquire, students are equipped for multifaceted career paths.
