General Information

Ph.D. on Social Psychology was established in 2021-2022 academic year. The general aim of the program is; (1) to give basic theoretical courses of social psychology; (2) to provide students with the knowledge and skills related to methods and applications in social psychology and the ability to design and conduct research; (3) to train qualified lecturers in the field of social psychology for our universities for the future; and (4) to train researchers who can contribute scientifically and practically to social psychology and social psychologists who will work in the field. Academic staff consists of 2 professor, 3 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, 3 instructors, and 4 research assistants. While following the latest developments in psychology in the world, our academic staff is trying to draw a path by taking into account the needs of our country. When viewed within this general framework, the Social Psychology Doctorate Program has been considered as a program that expresses a specialization area where developments in the world and the needs of our country intersect. In this respect, it is aimed that the program will be built on two basic scientific infrastructures and that the students should orient themselves according to their own career plans: (1) Cognitive Neuroscience ve (2) Political Psychology.

Cognitive Neuroscience: In this approach, in which subjects such as social perception, social cognition, and decision-making processes will be dealt with as a basis, it is thought to receive support from areas of interest such as experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, neurobiology, in addition to social psychology theories and research, and to implement the Ph.D. theses of the related students in parallel.

Political Psychology: In this approach, in which subjects such as intergroup relations, terrorism and terrorism, leadership and motivation will be discussed, it is thought to receive support from areas of interest such as political science and international relations in addition to social psychology theories and research, and to implement the Ph.D. theses of the relevant students in parallel.
