Civil Engineering Department of Baskent University was established in 2019. 2 Professors, 2 Assistant Professors and 1 Research Assistants are currently working in the Department. Our expert faculty members and staff population was carried out with high-quality education program is offered. 100% of classes ın the program are taught in English.
Başkent University has taken the decision to add a new program in civil engineering within its Faculty of Engineering starting with the 2019-2020 academic year. Civil engineering is the oldest formally taught discipline of engineering in Turkey, with a history that stretches nearly one hundred and fifty years. In a relatively youthful and rapidly expanding society such as Turkey, the country?s need to expand the current stock of residential buildings, educational facilities, infrastructure in health, transportation, energy and basic services continues to increase rapidly. This fact calls for the education and training of well-qualified civil engineers who are capable of meeting emerging challenges in the years ahead. A policy has been instituted by the university administration that the number of students accepted into the civil engineering program should be kept small, and that all of these students should be awarded full tuition grants in the interest of student quality. The level of students admitted into the program will further be improved by running the program exclusively in English. We believe that these measures will produce young engineers who are not only well-versed in their professional qualifications, but will be endowed with essential leadership characteristics as well. The selection of the faculty has been done with that objective in mind.
