At the end of this course, the students; 1) Understands the general concepts and the foundation of biochemistry. 2) Describes structures and properties of building blocks that make up living organisms (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, enzymes) 3) Defines the tools and equipment used in biochemistry laboratories. 4) Understands basic information about the preparation and properties of solutions.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course covers general information about the structures and properties of building blocks that make up living organisms (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, enzymes), and basic appliances and equipment used in biochemistry laboratory, biochemical calculations, solutions and their properties, methods of preparation of solutions, acids, bases, pH and buffer systems.
